Griffith Stadium

Griffith Stadium was one of Washington D.C.’s most historic baseball stadium located on Georgia avenue and W street, established in 1891but unfortunately it was demolished in 1965. Griffith stadium had its first senator’s game in 1903 and its last game in 1961. Griffith stadium was the first stadium later followed by RFK stadium that attracted presidents to throw the opening pitch. Griffith stadium was visited by president’s Taft all the way to Nixon no other park has this accomplishment. The most one-sided game in NFL football was held here with the score being 73-0. It was demolished in 1965 Howard university hospital stands in its place.
